Become a Hero

I've been really excited to finally share this project I created during Fernanda Montoni's Background Design for Animation course!

The goal of the assignment was to create a background that could be reused across different scenes in an animation. We were challenged to design a character's bedroom, thinking about how the environment could tell a little story about the character and their personality.

I took this opportunity to create a character who dreams of becoming a great hero. He's inspired by a legendary hero who once defeated the forces of darkness and brought peace to the continent. This hero became so famous that his legacy is still very much present in popular culture, as we can see through the posters and action figures scattered around our young hero's bedroom.

It was a lot of fun thinking about all the little details and finding ways to make the room feel lived-in, telling small stories through its objects and decorations.
